From a PPS Perspective…..

  • PPS June Breakfast Briefing: Focusing on  ‘The Commission Issue’ this Briefing is likely to prove popular with a scene setter followed by a panel discussion made-up of experts representing the tender, procurement and ethics perspectives. Thursday 28th June is the date and the details can be viewed here.
  • PPS July Breakfast Briefing:  PPS takes a hard look at what can be effectively undertaken by the  travel trade as far as MICE is concerned.  Date earmarked is Thursday 5th July. Programme will be advised when complete.
  • PPS Latest Newsletter:  On your laptop this coming week of the 4th June.
  • MADEX 2018: According to the website there are 30 exhibitors with a a third being publication and member association representatives.  When MADEX was a part of MARKEX ( Marketing & Promotions)  it was a packed exhibition.  The jury is out on whether MADEX will grow to the same prominence.
  • CEPA Launch: Council of Event Professionals Africa took place in mid-May. Although there are sign-ups from some organisers to become part of the process – PPS predict this still has a long way to go in meeting it’s objectives.
  • SAACI 2018: The annual conference takes place at the end of July at Misty Hills.  Being in the hub of South Africa’s economy there should be a good turn-out of the regular crowd with even some newbies. Hopefully the actual programme will be released soon.
  • EGF – Supplier Data Base Launch: Taking place at Sandton Conv. Centre on the 7th June – this data-base of the Event Greening Forum has been ‘a long time coming’ and is anticipated to be the start of more green events.
